About Us

The days leading up to the opening were crazy as we quickly turned a conservative men's clothing store into a store featuring American made handcrafts. Assisted by family & friends we sponged the walls, covered dark stained wood shelves with muslin, added track lighting, moved in fixtures & furniture in our desire to create a warm, comfortable place to present work by artisans from across the country. For the next 10 years, The Waygoose continued to operate thanks to the many customers who became our loyal fans.

In 2004, we closed in Rockville, to make room for the new Rockville Town Square and re-opened in November 2004 on Bethesda Row

While the location in Bethesda was wonderful, we missed our old friends in Rockville, when the opportunity arose to again open in Rockville, we jumped on it & in May 2007 we did just that.

Suddenly in the summer of 2010, another opportunity arose to relocate the Bethesda store to a location with parking right at the door. So on October 1, 2010 the newly christened Waygoose Redux opened it's doors on Hampden Lane, 2 blocks from the Bethesda Ave location.

On May 27, 2011, we sadly turned off the lights & locked the doors on the store in Rockville. A decision made due to many different factors, hardest because the story of The Waygoose is so tied to Rockville. Now we look forward to a bright, busy future on Hampden Lane in Bethesda. Hope to see you there.
